About this site and the Fund

Some of the children in the new Hendin School of Learning

The "Kenyan School Fund" started with the aim of raising money to open a school in the Mombasa area of Kenya.

In six months we have raised enough money to rent the school for three months, organise staff, desks, books, some stationary, water and food supply. We have also helped feed displaced families in humanitarian camps during the recent troubles in Kenya. We hope to fund the continual running of the school, buy more desks, uniforms and allow more children the opportunity to gain an essential education.

Samwel Manda (overseas co-ordinator) from the "New Light Orphanage” has named the new school the “Hendin School of Learning".

We hope that you could support our ventures and help us achieve our goals. As the results of children being allowed education from a young age in Kenya will help them gain the necessary skills, knowledge and understanding to gain better jobs and lead better lives. Please take the time to visit the remainder of the site and help us on our quest.

Education and Health

Eager to learn

It is a know fact that African children are eager to learn however many children in Africa never get the opportunity to go to school.

This is sometimes due to not having enough money or there simply isn’t a school in their area. Most children who can attend a school can have a very long walk to get there and the classrooms are normally over crowded and only the very basics are supplied to aid learning.

Most schools can’t provide food; water supply can be another long walk to a well to collect vital drinking water.

The Kenyan School Fund is dedicated to the promotion of equal education, outstanding learning, decent materials, adequate water and food supplies for pupils. We believe the health of the children is vital and will enable them to develop their individual learning skills with nourishment and hydration.

We believe that this balance of learning, nourishment and hydration will allow children to gain the necessary skills to support themselves in future years and make them independent, reliant and decent citizens who will bring development and hope for the future.
